My name is Sheila and I created my platform called Eat Alive and Thrive to help others achieve clear, glowing skin and to share tips on nutrition and health. I have been in the natural health industry for over 20 years. I am a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Health Coach with some background in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. My approach focuses on eating to heal, according to what’s in season.
After suffering with severe acne, I turned to the world of natural healing for help. Now, as I head into my mid 40s, I’m focused on healing sun damage and maintaining bright, vibrant, wrinkle-free skin. I truly love Bend Beauty’s Marine Collagen + Co-Factors powder. It has made a huge difference in my skin, as well as my hair and nails. The co-factors including silicon, vitamin C and lysine are such an important aspect of building healthy and strong collagen. Silicon increases the elasticity and strength of the connective tissues of the skin, slowing the aging process. It restores the natural glow of the skin and prevents wrinkles by increasing collagen formation.
This is the time of year where we should incorporate more warming and nourishing foods like elixirs, soups, and stews and eat less cold and raw foods. I believe what we eat and drink should be healing and nourishing to our whole body – keeping our immune and digestive systems well. A happy gut also means happy skin!
I am sharing a recipe for one of my favourite elixirs for glowing skin, which includes Bend Beauty Marine Collagen + Co-Factors. The ingredients in this elixir will help build healthy collagen and fight wrinkles and free radicals caused by sun damage. It is also rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients. All in a decadent drink that tastes like dessert in a cup.
Pretty in Pink Beauty Elixir:
- 1/2 cup warm hemp milk
- 1/2 cup rose and rooibos brewed hot tea
- 1.5 tablespoons raw cacao
- 1/2 teaspoon beetroot powder
- 2 teaspoons Bend Beauty Unflavoured Marine Collagen + Co-Factors
- 1/4 teaspoon true cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon raw honey (or more, to taste)
Blend all ingredients on high-speed in a blender. Pour into a large mug. If you’re in an Instagrammable-mood, top with rose petals.
Enjoy!
