Meet Carter Reid, one of our Bend Beauty Brand Ambassadors. Carter is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP) based in Ontario. Recently we chatted with Carter about her keys to healthy skin, and what a beautiful life means to her. Read on to get to know Carter.
As a CNP and nutritionist, you have incredible knowledge about skin health and longevity. What are some of your keys to beautiful skin?
It’s so hard to say just one or a few key nutrients since they all work together and rely on one another in such a complex way! Our bodies and the nutrients they need are so intricate and dynamic- when one thing is off, it creates a ripple effect and can impact the entire body. However, there are a few nutrients that are directly linked to healthy skin. Omega fatty acids, Vitamin D, C, and E, Probiotics, amino acid levels at a healthy balance (protein), Zinc, Selenium, and B vitamins are a few major nutrients. It’s important to also remember that the body will prioritize the health and nourishment of vital organs that keep the body alive before it prioritizes beauty organs such as our skin. For this reason, it’s important to make sure that you’re consuming a high alkaline diet, filled with functional whole foods, and are consuming plenty of water- which helps to properly distribute nutrients throughout the body!
How did you find Bend Beauty products, and what has your experience been like since you’ve been on them?
I’m so happy I discovered Bend Beauty Products, and since I have, they’ve been a staple in my wellness routine. I truly believe that “beauty” is really just complete nourishment at a cellular level and I love that Bend Beauty products have all the right nutrients at the right levels necessary to nourish from the inside out! They are so easy to incorporate into my everyday routine and the results have been incredible.
What does creating a beautiful life mean to you?
A beautiful life to me is living in a state of deep connection with one’s self and with the humans around them. Also, a connection to one’s life circumstances, no matter what they are. Opening yourself up to the lessons that are being presented at any given time and allowing them to evolve you and then helping to evolve the people around you with your learnings. At the end of the day, we’re all just here to learn ourselves and to help others learn as well, so as long as I am learning, sharing, and helping, to me, that is creating a beautiful life. I don’t think it’s as complicated as we tend to make it.
